Banned From Hinge? How the Appeal Works

Hinge lets banned members appeal. You do it from the ban screen, and you can't open a new account.

According to Hinge's Help Center, a banned member can't create a new Hinge account, but can submit an appeal. You file it from the ban screen: tap Appeal, describe the nature of your appeal, and explain why you believe your account didn't violate Hinge's Terms of Service. Hinge then confirms it received the appeal. Read the official page, How can I appeal my ban?, for the current steps.

Why Hinge may have banned you

Hinge says that in some cases banned members see a reason on an in-app screen, so it isn't always given. Its page Why was my account banned? explains how it handles this. If you got a reason, write it down before you appeal. If you didn't, say so in your appeal and ask Hinge to review it.

How to write the appeal

  1. Answer the question Hinge asks. It wants to know why you believe the account did not violate its Terms. Start there.
  2. Keep it factual. Say what you did on the app, what you think was misread, and anything that helps, like a report that may have been a misunderstanding.
  3. Stay polite. A person reads it. Anger doesn't help your case.
  4. Submit it once and wait for the confirmation. Hinge also has a Reporting and Appeals section in its Help Center.

What not to try

Hinge says banned members can't make a new account, and trying to get around a ban is generally against an app's terms anyway. Don't pay anyone who promises a back door. The official appeal is the only route we can point you to.

While you wait

A fair note about Catch. Catch of a Lifetime is not a way around a ban. We have our own rules: our Terms don't allow harassment, stalking or impersonation, and we remove accounts that break them. Outings are small, public and hosted, and members can report and block. If you were banned elsewhere for treating people badly, a new app won't fix that. If you were caught out by a mistake, or you're just done with swiping, read on.
